Kitchen & bakers Assistant FULL-TIME

We're on the hunt for a fast paced energetic kitchen wiz to join our small close-knit bakehouse team and help us craft our famous pies. This role is full-time with a total of 40-45 hours a week. Early starts, with early finishes! Monday to Friday. No Weekends!
As an assistant you will need to be flexible in your ability to move as required within the team. While an entry level position the role provides a great opportunity to grow into more specialised work as the business grows. Apprenticeships and training can be provided if there is a desire to up skill through the business.
The roles duties include;
  • Food preparation of raw ingredients for pie mixes, such as chopping and dicing in large quantities.
  • Maintaining a clean and tidy kitchen area including dishes.
  • Assisting cooking of pie mixes under supervision.
  • Assisting the assembly of pies as required, including lining pie trays with pastry and adding filling.
An ideal candidate will; 
  • Some experience in a commercial kitchen
  • Knowledge of food & workplace safety
  • Be efficient and able to work well under pressure
  • Great attitude, motivated and reliable
  • Act quickly and be punctual.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Ability to stand for long periods at a time
  • Ability to work extra hours if required

The position is based in Invercargill, Southland NZ. Only applicants with current working visas with a minimum of 2 years or permanent residents of NZ will be considered for this position.
