Pie-scented Perfume a hit The Smell of Success

June 2023 Story by roaming reporter Mr IP Nightly

The pie-perfume, with notes of succulent lamb and crispy pastry.

In a revolution that has left the fragrance industry absolutely gobsmacked, a Southland perfume startup named "Eau de Pie" has unleashed a meat pie-scented perfume that has the whole country sniffing in delight.

Who knew that the smell of a hot, hearty Fat Bastard Pie could prove so irresistible, even in a non-edible format? Well, the folks at "Eau de Pie" did, and they were right on the money, or should we say, right on the nose?

The pie-perfume, with notes of succulent lamb, crispy pastry, and a hint of rich gravy, sold out within minutes of its launch. "It's like wearing a warm, comforting hug," gushed one satisfied customer. "I smell like a bakery, and I absolutely love it."

This aroma sensation has sparked a scent frenzy across New Zealand, and it appears the demand is not just limited to the pie-loving population. "My wife's a vegetarian, but she can't get enough of it. She says it's like having the pie without the guilt," shared Bruce, a West Coast Pie Club member.

Of course, no fragrance story is complete without the obligatory celebrity endorsement. Rumour has it that even the Prime Minister has been dabbing a bit behind the ears for press conferences. When asked to comment, Chris Hipkins tactfully replied, "No comment," but with a mischievous twinkle in the eye that could only suggest one thing – Eau de Pie.

As for the future, the sky's the limit, or rather, the nose's the limit. Who knows what scents will be tantalising nostrils next? A Big Nude Seafood Pie cologne? A potato top lotion? Only time, and the ever-creative minds at "Eau de Pie", will tell.
